Under the influence of Munich painters, he drew on the achievements of the French Barbizon School as well as adopted the model of the “stimmung” landscape. Landscape with a Bridge depicts a flat landscape with a motif of cottages situated by a stream, which was typical of Sidorowicz. The artist usually added genre staffage to these compositions. What the landscapes in question have in common is the autumn setting and the time of day: night or twilight. A dark palette, restricted to one dominant tone, and the soft application of paint in delicate colour combinations with wide value diversity were also common to all of them.
